Pendleton
On July 3rd 1996 the San Clemente Chamber of
Commerce and the City of San Clemente adopted the
2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Division at Camp
Pendleton. The City Council formally passed a
Resolution supporting the “America Supporting
Americans” Adoption Program Adopting the United
States Marine Corps 2d Battalion, 4th Marines.
“America supporting Americans” was created to
establish an “adoption” program for every branch of
the United States Armed Services by a City. The
purpose is to bond Americans with the young men and
women who
serve their country and is a bridge
connecting every American with a common goal of
morally supporting the men and
women in the armed
forces.
Marine Aircraft Group 39 Camp Pendleton - America’s MAG
Marine Aircraft Group 39 is an aviation unit
currently based at Marine Corps Air Station, Camp
Pendleton, California. MAG-39 is currently composed
of five squadrons of AH-1W Super Cobra and UH-1N
Huey aircrafts, three CH-46E Sea Knight squadrons,
one aviation logistics squadron, and one
headquarters squadron. MAG-39 is a part of the 3d
Marine Aircraft Wing and the 1st Marine
Expeditionary Force.
The San Clemente Chamber of Commerce and the City of
San Clemente host events for the 2nd Battalion, 4th
Marines and the Marine
Aircraft Group 39.
Mr. Dick Rodriguez of Rod’s Tree Service, Chairs
these special events. He along with many volunteers
will cook and serve a BBQ lunch to 350 – 700 Marines
and their families.
The Chamber offers
sponsorship opportunities and
collects donations for toys, gifts and equipment for
the events.
The public is invited to come and show their
appreciation to our brave troops.
