Because the Chamber of Commerce is the first place people think of when they are in need of information, or a specific product or service, the Chamber staff handles dozens of referrals daily about businesses in San Clemente. Last year, for example, the Chamber handled more than 20,000 requests for information. In each case, we referred only Chamber members to those making the inquiry in an effort to provide increased profits to our members, and to give them a competitive advantage over non-members.

Free Legal Advice & Consulting . . . . . . . . . . .$250

The Chamber’s group legal services provide free legal consultation to Chamber members. Legal advice and consultation is available by phone or in person by appointment once a year.

The Chamber is the voice of the business community in local, county and state issues, rep-resenting the community in problem solving, promoting economic development, etc.

Member to Member Discount Programs . . . .Unlimited

Allows Chamber members the opportunity to offer their goods or services to other Chamber members, opening the door to hundreds of potential clients. See Member Advantage Program.

Membership bulletins and newsletters keep members informed about Chamber programs, activities and on vital issues affecting their business. Members receive the Current, the Chamber’s official monthly publication which keeps members abreast of Chamber activities, upcoming events and important issues.


Members are also encouraged to submit bulletins to the Chamber regarding special accomplishments, open houses, changes to a business, etc. These submissions are included in the “Members News Flash” section of the Newsletter. All submissions are subject to edit, and will be included as space allows. Also, new members get a 30 word description of their company in the next issue of the Current after they join, free of charge.

The Chamber represents San Clemente at trade shows and helps attract visitors and tourism dollars to the city.

The San Clemente Chamber of Commerce maintains a website on the internet, with membership news & services, as well as information on the City of San Clemente. Chamber members’ business information is listed, free of charge. Our state-of-the-art member directory automatically links to your website once a visitor hits your website address. This offers members an internet presence with a full service active data base working 24 hours a day.

Hundreds of hours of research and production go into the various publications the Chamber prepares for its membership. Some of the publications which are available free to the members, or at a nominal charge, include a Membership Directory, a Club & Organization Directory, city maps, demographic information and a roster of local, state and federal officials. In addition, the Chamber’s research library includes a large collection of publications covering statistical and marketing data, business directories, advertising, public speaking, California Labor Law guides and other specialized business topics to assist members in the day-to-day operation of their businesses.

Consumer Complaint Services . . . . . . . . . . . .$150

Often, when a consumer has a complaint, they contact the Chamber of Commerce first. If a consumer has a complaint about a Chamber member, our staff makes every effort to keep the problem on a local level by referring the complaint directly to the member. If a complaint is received about a non-member, the Chamber will not become involved. Instead, the customer is referred to the proper agency. By serving as an intermediary between our members and consumers, we help members establish and maintain a positive business image.

Hosting of Business Seminars . . . . . . . . . . . Unlimited

Chamber members have the opportunity, and are encouraged, to host an informational business seminar. The Chamber will market the seminar via the Chamber Newsletter as well as through broadcast e-mails. The Member is responsible for all other matters related to the seminar.
