 Fall Plant Sale Set for Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021
8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community Center
 
SAN CLEMENTE. August 25, 2021 - Fall is the time to plant vegetables and herbs, seeds and bulbs, flowers and perennials, succulents and cactus, shrubs and to purchase indoor plants. The San Clemente Garden Club's annual fall plant sale offers homeowners and renters alike an once-a-year opportunity to spruce up their gardens and planter pots with bargains galore at the Community Center on Del Mar at Seville. Plus, there will be horticultural advice available.  The sale begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021 and ends at 1 p.m.
 
Proceeds from the annual sale benefit the garden club's annual horticulture scholarships as well the Junior Gardeners Program, city beautification activities, and other club projects. The San Clemente Garden Club and the City of San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Department sponsor the annual sale.

"With the cancellation of our major fundraising events such as our spring and fall plant sales in 2020, and our May 2020 garden tour, we need the support of our members, San Clemente businesses and residents to help with the serious shortfall in funds for our annual scholarship program," said SCGC President Betsy Dunn.  "Our spring 2021 plant sale raised $3000 and we look forward to another  successful plant sale this fall."
 
The San Clemente Garden Club, a charitable organization founded in 1951, is a member of the Orange County District, California Garden Clubs, Inc., Pacific Regional Garden Clubs, Inc., and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew's Church in San Clemente.

Our name says "San Clemente" and our members are men and women living in our "Little Spanish Village by the Sea" and neighboring cities. We are of all ages, all races, diverse interests and skills with a passion for gardening.  We come together as a group for a common purpose: to support our community by giving selflessly of our time, skills, financial contributions and in-kind donations to make our hometown's public gardens, parks, sidewalks, patios and other spaces more beautiful.
 
As people of like minds, we also love to learn, have fun and build lifelong "garden buddy" friendships.  Our monthly meetings help us do just that.  Through our meetings and special events each year, we are proud to be regarded as a serious philanthropic group.
